In 2010 and 2011, Mama J walked in the Susan G Komen 3 Day for the Cure Breast Cancer Walk in San Francisco. She was inspired to walk in honor of her friend Maria, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 38, and by a kitty named Tallulah, who died from breast cancer in 2009.
In 2013, I was diagnosed with feline breast cancer Sadly, Mama J's friend Maria's battle ended just after I was diagnosed.
Mama J walked in her first Avon 39 that year. In 2014 and 2015, she walked the Avon 39 with a team of animal loving friends in San Francisco and New York, respectively.
In 2016, the team walked in Chicago and showed Mama J and me a great honor by re-naming the team "Sugar's Trekkers for Ta-Tas".
In 2017, Sugar's Trekkers for Ta-Tas walked in Santa Barbara.
The Avon Breast Cancer Walks were cancelled in 2018, so Sugar's Trekkers for Ta-Tas walked in the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer in Atlanta, Georgia September 29 - 30, 2018.
In 2019, we walked in Rhode Island in the Glory Days Weekend Journey.
In 2020 we will walk in Pledge the Pink in South Carolina.
Thank you "Sugar's Trekkers for Ta-Tas" for walking and for raising awareness that Pets Get Breast Cancer Too.
